  • HEART SURVIVOR:
    Adam, Age 9

    My mom said it was discovered days after I was born. I had two open-heart surgeries. I learned to walk before I learned to crawl because of the scar on my chest."
  • HEART SURVIVOR:
    Dylan, Age 1
    Dylan was born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot.
    Dylan had a very large hole in between the chambers of his heart (a ventricular septal defect, or VSD) and no pulmonary valve (pulmonary atresia). He had a heart murmur and was turning blue at birth, which led to his diagnosis at 5 hours old.
